New Delhi: Marking its participation in the nationwide Russian campaign “We Stand for Cleanliness,” Russian Embassy in New Delhi organised a cleanup drive on Sunday, in the lead-up to Spring and Labour Day on May 1.

The initiative took place in and around the embassy premises in New Delhi and saw active participation from embassy officials and their families. Leading the effort was Denis Alipov, who was joined by diplomats, staff members of the Russian Trade Representation, as well as representatives from Russian organisations operating in India, officials apprised TheNewsSite. In .

Participants engaged in collecting waste and tidying the surrounding areas, turning the event into both a community activity and a symbolic gesture of environmental responsibility. The presence of families, including children, added a community-oriented dimension to the drive.

According to the embassy, the initiative was part of a broader effort observed across Russia and its missions abroad, aimed at promoting cleanliness, civic responsibility, and environmental awareness. The timing of the event also aligns with preparations for May Day, a holiday traditionally associated with labour rights and social solidarity.

The drive was conducted across several Russian missions worldwide,” spokesperson for the Russian Embassy told TheNewsSite.in on Sunday.
